New Camera and Jib added to the Big Pictures Toolkit
Panasonic HPX170 P2HD Camera Package
We’re pleased to announce the recent addition of the new Panasonic HPX170 to our camera package lineup. The AG-HPX170 is an ultra-mobile P2 HD handheld camcorder featuring full, 4:2:2 independent frame production quality HD and solid-state recording. Based on the AG-HVX200 series, the lighter HPX170 is fully solid state (no DV mechanism), and comes with a host of enhancements including a new 1/3" progressive 3-CCD imager system, wider Leica Dicomar 13X lens, and an HD-SDI out for direct connection to one of our HD monitors. It shoots in 1080i or 720p, with completely variable frame rates.
The HPX170 serves as an excellent little brother to our HDX900 packages, for those who want HD on a smaller budget, or prefer the tapeless workflow.
Like all of our Camera/Crew packages, the HPX170 package comes complete with tripod, HD monitor, lighting and sound. It also comes with several P2 cards, and an optional Mac laptop and drive for downloading.
In this photo, we're shooting with the HPX170 up in Breckenridge for an interview with snowboarder Steve Fisher about his career and quest for the 2010 Olympics, for a Getty Images production. Click here to see the results.
New EZ Jib
And while this is old news for the many who have already used it, we’ve also recently added a portable jib to our production arsenal. The EZ FX Jib adds the high production value of fluid movement, at a lower cost of both time and money than larger jibs. It takes our crews under fifteen minutes to set this baby up, and it works with any of our cameras - from the smaller HPX170 and DVX100 to the heavier fullsize DVCams, Betas, and HD cameras.
Our EZ jib has already been on a number of shoots, from a National Geographic Megastructures Program (soon to be released, details forthcoming), to a multi-camera racquetball tournament, to an ABC/ESPN feature on Carmelo Anthony that is set to air later this month. It’s also been out on a few corporate shoots, providing movement and interest to those dreaded computer and cubicle shots!
Give us a call for more info, or about adding the EZ jib to any of our packages.
